Appreciating Your Partner on Father’s Day

Appreciating Your Partner on Father’s Day

Just because your daddy-to-be isn’t a daddy quite yet doesn’t mean that you can’t celebrate him on Father’s Day! In fact, celebrating the life you are about to bring into the world is great way to show your partner how much you appreciate him. Here are a few ideas to shower him with love:1-3

Make him breakfast

While you are still pregnant (and not caring for a crying baby at 5 AM) take the time to make him his favorite breakfast. Eat together and enjoy each other’s company. Though this might seem simple, and you may already do this, take the time to soak in the quiet; before you know it, you will be parents to a beautiful little baby!

Get an ultrasound together

Although you can’t exactly walk into your OBGYN’s office and demand an ultrasound, if your scheduled check-up happens to fall around Father’s Day, bring your husband! It can be a great bonding experience for the both of you and is a special way to show him what being a father is all about. If you don’t have an appointment any time soon, frame your first ultrasound and give it to him as a gift you can both appreciate.

Make him a card

Nowadays, there are so many types of cards at the store, but if you can’t seem to find a “Happy Father’s Day to the not-yet-a-father-but-can’t-wait-until-you-are!” card, make a DIY card for him! You can write your own personal message and he will appreciate the time you put into it. This is also great practice for crafts once the baby comes!

Go shopping for the baby on the way

One of the most exciting parts of pregnancy is prepping for your future son/daughter. Bringing your husband along to the store to help pick out clothes or toys is an exciting way for your partner to participate. Baby shopping is a fun way to get excited and spend time with your husband to celebrate Father’s Day.

Get away for the weekend

Whether it’s a road trip to a lake house or a hotel getaway, spending a few days alone with your partner can be a perfect way to celebrate. You probably won’t have the chance to do this soon, so if you have the opportunity to escape for a little while, don’t hesitate!

Ask him what he wants to do

Though this may seem like a no-brainer, it really could make your husband’s day. Instead of planning a whole day for him, ask him what he wants to do. If he wants to go on an outdoor adventure, gear up! If he wants to lay in bed all day and watch movies, get comfy! Enjoy whatever you’re doing because he is happy and you are spending time together.

Ultimately anything you do with or for your partner will be a perfect way to spend Father’s Day. Just remember to remind him how much you love him and how excited you are to become parents!
